Premium topsoil is a fertile, nutrient-rich, loamy-textured soil that's made of sand, clay, and organic materials. It's the most expensive of the three grades of topsoil.

  • Organic matter: Premium topsoil contains organic matter, which is what's left after plant roots, stems, and leaves decompose 
     
  • pH: Good quality topsoil has a pH value of 5.5 and 7.5
