Understanding the Fuel Surcharge
Due to the rapid increase in diesel fuel costs, Bertram’s Rock & Stone has implemented a temporary fuel surcharge. This measure is necessary to maintain reliable delivery service without compromising safety or quality. The surcharge helps cover the rising operational costs associated with fuel, vehicle maintenance, and transportation, ensuring fair and transparent pricing for our valued customers.
How the Surcharge is Calculated
The fuel surcharge is calculated based on the total round-trip mileage for your delivery. A surcharge of $0.10 per mile is applied when the price of diesel exceeds $4.00 per gallon. This rate is reviewed weekly and adjusted accordingly as fuel prices fluctuate. Importantly, the surcharge will be automatically removed once diesel prices fall below the $4.00 per gallon threshold, ensuring you only pay for it when it's truly necessary.
